I based this blog's theme on one of my favorite anime, Fresh Pretty Cure.

It's a magical girl anime about three girls (the fourth member joins the group halfway through the show) who are given the ability to turn into Pretty Cures, superhero-like women who use their powers to defeat monsters born from ordinary everyday objects. Their enemy is a group named Labyrinth, who look to fill up the "misery gauge" in order to destroy the world.

Even though the Pretty Cure series (there are ten different seasons) are meant for children, particularly younger girls, the shows also have deeper undertones and wonderful lessons about life, friendship, and being yourself. It's the perfect show for me to watch whenever I'm down.

  1. I'm definitely going to check out Fresh Pretty Cure! It looks すごい。I've been watching a lot of shonen (しょねん?) lately so I could go for a magical girl story. Do you like Cardcaptor Sakura?

  6. ... that was...interesting...My older sister really likes slice of life and shoujos too. I'm more inclined towards shonen and more mature and bloody kinds of anime. Evangelion, Black Lagoon, Full Metal Alchemist- those are my obsessions. One day my sister forced me to watch mermaid melody pichi pichi pitch...I have never been the same...*shivers. Yous should look into it. It's only two seasons and I'm pretty convinced you're gonna like it.

    2. ... I am so happy you said that! It really is amazing how many different styles and genres there are in anime, it would be a shame to at not try to embrace all kinds - regardless of how painful it is! D: lol
